Our beautiful former First Lady had something to say to and about the wanna-be dictator currently dishonoring the White House with his noxious presence:
“The whole [birther] thing was crazy and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly . But it was also dangerous, deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks,” Obama writes in the book, according to the Post. “What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? What if that person went looking for our girls? Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this I’d never forgive him.”
I dunno about you, but when people criticize me, I usually take at least a minute to see whether I deserve the criticism. A minute of self-reflection, if you will. Of course, looking at one’s actions critically and through the eyes of others is not usually the most pleasant of exercises. The ego becomes a very active stumbling block in the process and it takes discipline and a desire to grow and to learn to rise above the interference; when you have an ego as huge as this illegitimate pres*dent, then it becomes well nigh impossible to look inward. Everybody knows that every word Michelle Obama said in the above-quoted paragraph is the truth and nothing but the truth. Do you think Ghengis Kkkhan’t took even a nanosecond to think about his actions and the harm they did to the former First Family? Of course not!
His sustained attack on the Obamas is fueled by his hate for black people. Apologists for the racist often point out that Voldemort is rude to everybody. True. The man is classless, graceless, vulgar and narcissistic by nature but his special venom is reserved for people of color.
This week, he turned his jaundiced eye on three professional black women who had the temerity to question his awesomeness. Their presence in a space normally reserved for white men and later white women irks the Two-Bit Caesar something awful.
Harvard-educated Abby Phillips who works for CNN was told that she asks stupid questions. That he’s been watching her and she only asks stupid questions.
April Ryan, a veteran journalist who has been covering the White House for over 21 years, is rudely told to “Sit down! I didn’t call on you!” Then unprovoked and unprompted this morning, he describes her as “a loser” and as “nasty.”
Yamiche Alcindor who works for NPR is told that her perfectly reasonable question was racist. Racist?! If that’s not a prime example of gaslighting, I don’t know what is.
Auntie Maxine is “low IQ,” Stacey Abrams is totally unqualified, Omarosa is “lowlife” and a “dog.”
Enter New York Attorney General Letitia James!
So far, Der Trumpkopf has been on the attack and with impunity. Insulting, lying, slashing right, left, and center and with nary a regard to well-established norms of diplomacy and or decency. What would have ended the presidencies of other Commanders-in-Chief is greeted with barely a ripple. But there’s one powerful black woman who can change the dynamics at play. One woman who can put The Lone DeRanger and his family of grifters in check.
Letitia James, the newly elected Democratic attorney general of New York, promised during her acceptance speech Tuesday to investigate Donald Trump’s real estate dealings.
“New Yorkers, we can spot a con man,” James, the first African-American and the first woman elected to the office, said to a cheering crowd in Brooklyn. “We can spot a carnival barker. I will shine a light into every dark corner of his real estate dealings, and every dealing.”
Yep, black women will have the last laugh yet.
