Rev. Barber gave a powerful speech to a Bible study at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church in Raleigh, N.C. He outlined the winning strategy for the way forward. It's worth a read.
We must build relationships at the state level because that’s where most of the extremism of the current-day deconstructionists are happening.
The Michael Brown Over-Policed Rights Act
In the coming year and with an immoral “law and order” president safely ensconced in the White House, there’ll be even more reasons to have our Michael Brown Over-Policed Rights Act signed into law. At this point, our best bet seems to be to get the law on the ballots of liberal states. We have our fingers crossed about some hopeful signs from California. We’ll update you when there’s definite news. Know that we haven’t given up. We can’t give up. Lives are at stake.
Police killed 1025 people year-to-date.
145 were unarmed
146 were “armed” with knives
477 were armed with guns. ( Do you wonder how many Keith Lamont Scotts are in that number?)
We’ll resume that fight in the new year.

The Affordable Care Act
On the health front, we know that Republicans Governors did not care two figs that 17,000 of their constituents were dying every year because of their refusal to accept the Medicaid Expansion Program. Now the incoming administration is glibly talking about repealing Obamacare. They have stopped talking about replacing Obamacare because they know that they have nothing with which to replace it. Repealing Obamacare could lead to the deaths of over 36,000 people every year. Some say the number of deaths will be much, much higher.
If 17,000 people die yearly due to 4.3 million having no insurance due to Republican governors, then
... (... does math ... ) …
17,000 deaths per year / 4,300,000 uninsured = .0039 deaths per year/uninsured
0.0039 deaths per year/uninsured x 20,000,000 uninsured = 78,000 deaths per year!
Therefore, for the 20+ million people who will not be able to afford insurance, there will be 78,000 deaths per year.
This, too, is a fight that we’ll resume next year, but in the meantime, we ask that you write, email, call, use social media to contact your representatives.

Dear Senator _________,
I am a constituent with sound advice for you. In the next session of Congress, you will be asked to repeal Obamacare. If you do so, you will be responsible for the untimely deaths of millions of Americans. Now that might not give you pause, but I believe this should: Every time one of your constituents is,
1. Denied coverage;
2. Told that they have reached lifetime limits;
3. Forced to pay a larger co-pay;
4. Able to afford only the largest deductible;
5. Compelled to buy a separate policy for a college-age child;
6. Told that the specialist they need is "outside their network";
7. Faced with 25% or higher premium increases each year;
8. Unable to afford health insurance for their family;
9. Obliged to miss a rent, mortgage or car payment because of high insurance premiums;
10. Spending 48 hours to compare tricky insurance policies over multiple websites;
11. Doomed to watch a loved one struggle in pain from a treatable condition,
They will blame you.
Sincerely,

And finally, things look bleak, but I know for sure that we’ll overcome. We’ve been down this road before. I wanted to leave you — our friends — in a good frame of mind. Where better to turn than to our children? “Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings...”
When next we meet, President Trump will be in the White House. A strong man and his family will be running things. There’ll be so much work to do, but right now we do need to take a break.
Thanks for your support in 2016. Stay safe, stay strong, stay woke. See you in 2017.
