I don’t know how one describes the sense of betrayal, the feeling of being punched in the gut, the nausea one feels at seeing one’s hero groveling at the gold-plated feet of Donald J. Trump. What the hell was Jim Brown doing on Trump’s reality show this morning?

After allowing himself and his legacy to be co-opted on the cheap by Trump, Brown then went on CNN to further embarrass and debase himself.

"I fell in love with him because he really talks about helping African-American, black people and that's why I'm here," said Brown, a man many consider to be one of the NFL's greatest running backs.

Please only watch if you have a barf bag at the ready.

This same man — this Jim Brown who’s just offered a full-throated endorsement of the racist, misogynist, Islamophobe — had this  to say about Barack Obama:

On the job President Obama has done in office: "When you ask me that, that's a difficult one. I like his family. I like him as a human being, but somehow it seems like he's over his head or maybe he underestimated the system of government we had. When Kennedy couldn't get the Civil Rights Bill passed he was the big liberal. Lyndon Johnson came in and got it passed and he was a conservative and a Southerner. Sometimes in politics, to get something done, it takes a special kind of knowledge and a special kind of person, but it doesn't always follow the party lines. Obama was elected by the people, and I was glad that barrier was broken down. I did, along with my wife, campaign for him in Ohio because that was a key state. If I had to say does he rate an 'A' or does he rate a 'D,' it would be very difficult. I give him a 'C.'"

He was clearly telegraphing his beliefs back then; I should have listened.

But WTF?! This is a freaken nightmare!
