Still Fighting for Justice for Jayson #BLM #StDD

The family of Jayson Negron is in pain and the city of Bridgeport is doing its darnedest to add to their suffering. Their peculiar anguish began last May when their beloved baby boy was brutally gunned down and then left unattended in the street for over six hours.

Within minutes of reaching the car, James Boulay fatally shot Jayson. He was so blinded by his anger, so unhinged by his feelings, that he pointed his gun into the car and, with authority and confidence, not fear, shot two defenseless teenagers.

You may remember that the Connecticut State Attorney for the Judicial District of Waterbury “investigated” the case and concluded that Jayson deserved what he got. No, they didn’t put it as crudely as all that, but the legalese did nothing to blunt the impact of their verdict as they exonerated the man who killed the innocent student.

And now to add insult to egregious injury, the family must watch the man who killed their son be once again put in a position of authority over thousands of black and brown youths in one of the most diverse cities in the nation.

The fight for Jayson is not over. James Boulay didn’t face a single charge for killing Jayson. He took the life of a fifteen-year old and for that, he also continued to be paid and employed by the Bridgeport Police Department. Now James Boulay is back at work. Only the police can kill and continue in their lives, in their jobs, as if nothing happened.

The family is asking for your help. Help them send a message to all and sundry that killing unarmed children is not okay...not now, not ever.

We have no choice but to do better by our youth, our next beloved generation. We refuse to accept a world in which Jayson's murderers remain free to kill and hurt others. We refuse to accept a world in which police can kill and get away with it. We refuse to accept a world in which our black and brown youth live in constant fear for their lives.

A call to action:

We demand that Bridgeport Officer James Boulay and Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez be removed from their positions immediately for the murder of Jayson Negron.

Thank you!
