Donald Trump’s speech in Wisconsin was advertised as a policy paper on “how to make our communities safe again from crime and lawlessness.” I read the transcript of his presentation and there really wasn’t much about policy or solution. What is was, however, was what RWNJs have become very fond of doing and that is pathologizing black folks. The speech, such as it was, was a toxic mix of patriarchy, totalitarianism topped with a touch of the slave master syndrome.
Drumpf’s teleprompter presentation has already been almost universally panned for its insulting condescension as it was quite apparent that the Tiny-Fingered Vulgarian was speaking down to “the blacks” rather than to African Americans. But yes, parts of the diatribe is still sticking in my craw.
The Republican Nominee — and thus the Republicans — see violence and lawlessness only in the black community and Massa Trump and his overseer Rudy Giuliani are gonna fix t’ings. Hear the sound of the cracking whip?
From Trump’s speech, I gleaned the following:
- There is absolutely nothing wrong with the police. Black people just don’t know what is good for them so he’s gonna set them straight. For starters, they need more policing, not less.
- Rudolph Guiliani did a heckuva of a job in New York and what he did will provide the template for policing in a Donald Trump’s Amerikkka.
- The Black Lives Matter movement and its allies are really terrorists
Let's stop here and take a look at this:
Those peddling the narrative of cops as a racist force in our society – a narrative supported with a nod by my opponent – share directly in the responsibility for the unrest in Milwaukee, and many other places within our country.
They have fostered the dangerous anti-police atmosphere in America.
It doesn’t surprise me that Donald Trump —who boasts of not needing to read — has no idea of the history of policing in this country. It doesn’t even surprise me that he’s unaware of current events as he seems to spend most of his time on White Supremacists websites. Had he paid but a little attention, he’d be aware of the blatant racist and exploitative practices of almost every police department the DoJ has investigated.
The problems addressed in our cases include use of excessive force; unlawful stops, searches, or arrests; and discriminatory policing. We have looked at bias based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, and sexual-orientation. We have also addressed unlawful responses to individuals who observe, record, or object to police actionsIn recent months, the DoJ has confirmed what Black Americans have been saying for decades, that the police seem to
The DoJ confirmed that law enforcement agencies use a different Standard Operation Manual for black communities than they do for majority communities.
Findings from Ferguson:
Ferguson, MO., is a third white, but the crime statistics compiled in the city over the past two years seemed to suggest that only black people were breaking the law. The accounted for 85 percent of traffic stops, 90 percent of tickets and 93 percent of arrests. In cases like jaywalking, which often hinge on police discretion, blacks account for 95 percent of all arrests.
Findings from Baltimore:
The report also found in the five and half years of data they examined, African Americans accounted for 95 percent of the 410 people the BPD stopped at least 10 times.
Donald Trump, I think I can safely say, has not read one of those reports. And if he did, he’d probably give his stamp of approval for them. One of the most frightening aspects of Mr. Trump’s speech that has received little to no coverage was the implied threat to revive the discredited and unconstitutional Stop and Frisk policy.

An analysis by the NYCLU revealed that innocent New Yorkers have been subjected to police stops and street interrogations more than 4 million times since 2002, and that black and Latino communities continue to be the overwhelming target of these tactics. Nearly nine out of 10 stopped-and-frisked New Yorkers have been completely innocent, according to the NYPD’s own reports.
Why else would he offer such full-throated praise for the work done by Mr. 911 himself, Rudy Giuliani? Giuliani wants to be remembered as Mayor 911, in fact, his legacy is Stop&Frisk.
My dear friend, Rudy Giuliani, knows a thing or two about this. The policies put into place by Rudy ultimately brought down crime by 76 percent and murder by 84 percent.
Lies. Donald Trump is a big fat liar, and so is Giuliani. Crime was already on a downward trajectory before Giuliani took office. He was merely in the right place at the right time. From Wes Allison over at Politifact:
New York was no anomaly, but was part of a trend that saw crime fall sharply nationwide in the 1990s, particularly in big cities. The city with the best record for reducing violent crime during this period? San Francisco.
Independent studies generally have failed to link the tactics of the Giuliani administration with the large decrease in crime rates.
Rather, many criminologists believe the decline in New York, as in Chicago, San Diego, Miami and elsewhere, was the result of a complex mix of social and demographic changes, including a break in the crack cocaine epidemic, an improving economy, and increased prison terms for proven lawbreakers.
What Giuliani did do, was to encourage over-policing and to give police unfettered, unlimited and unsupervised freedom to brutalize black and brown bodies at will. It was under his watch that Amadou Diallo was shot at some 41 times at his doorstep; Sean Bell was profiled and killed the night before his wedding; Anthony Ramon Baez choked to death for the crime of hitting a police car with a ball. During his mayoralty, Giuliani did not meet an act of brutality from his NYPD that wasn’t justified.
A one-time supporter of Giuliani, Rev Calvin Butts had this to say about him:
"I don't believe he likes black people. And I believe there's something fundamentally wrong in the way we are disregarded, the way we are mistreated, and the way our communities are being devastated.
It is that man, that Rudy Giuliani that helped to write Trump’s speech that was sold as an outreach to African Americans. That man, that Giuliani who will be Trump’s right-hand man — the expert — in his “law and order” Presidency. Makes me sick to my stomach.
Trump sees violence and lawlessness in the black community and it’s going to stop, believe him. In his quest to keep us in line, he’s getting the help of some eager volunteers. Meet Donald Trump’s Patriot:
Police killed some 679 Americans since Jan 1, 2016, but like Trump, that is not what gets this asshole spitting all over himself. No, it is the peaceful protesters calling out for justice that makes them mad. It is the voice of mothers and fathers crying out in pain that makes this “patriot” want to murder little 12-year-old black girls. Thank you, Trump!
But gosh darn it! This is enough to make Job cuss up a blue storm. If you are as outraged as we are about the audacity of Donald Trump to so cavalierly dismiss our concerns about our safety; the gall of him to want to foist Rudy Giuliani on us one more time; then come join us in our second #CussAThon next Friday at 7:30 PM EDT on Twitter. Let’s let our voices be heard.
