Viewers of Cable News had a real choice this evening: they could watch the antics of the carnival barker-in-chief, Donald Trump, on liberal MSNBC, or they could watch President Obama as he attempts to inject some sanity into the national conversation about guns.
The town hall was a rare forum for a President who is entering his final full year in office. He fielded questions from those who support his actions, including a priest and victims of gun violence at the "Guns in America" special, moderated by Anderson Cooper.
The whole program was worth the watch, but I was especially proud of the President when he blasted both-sides-do-it Anderson Cooper for buying into every cynical, self-serving idea that the NRA and its political arm — the GOP — choose to feed to an all too receptive media. Watch and see for yourselves.
